CourseWare Module License Agreement

July 2, 2001

By downloading or installing the software, you are consenting to be bound by this license. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE TERMS OF THIS LICENSE, do not install, copy, or use the SOFTWARE.

A "CourseWare Module" is a Java applet consisting of binary JAR file and supporting text files. It can be placed on a web server or executed locally via a web browser. Source code is not normally provided, except to colleagues pursuing research.

Contributions to the CourseWare project will be used only to fund effort maintaining and extending the CourseWare project.

In exchange for your contribution, you are granted a license to place a Module on your web server, for the use by a specified number of people, typically an estimated number of students for one term. These are "paid users." You are not required to prevent unpaid users from accessing the SOFTWARE from your web server. You are expected to make further contributions for further intentional users being assigned to use the Module. The Module may be set to expire (quit working) after a certain amount of time, to remind you to obtain a new download/license.

You agree that in all cases, the software and all copies of it will carry the copyright notice:

Your modifications should be backed up before replacing the Module with an updated version.
